How did The Buffalo Ranch come about? |
|
| The Buffalo
Ranch was the idea of one man, Bloody Gene aka Ron Estes.
Based on the premise of, "If you build it they will come," Ron knew there were far too few places for the re-enactor to practice their art. Even fewer places that feature the rustic setting of the Old Wild West. The Buffalo Ranch offers over 400 acres of pristine, un-refined land in the Central North Eastern region of Arizona. The Buffalo Ranch is located on the Black Mesa in Northern Arizona. You can still find petrified wood, arrowheads, and pottery shards from times past in the sand. The Buffalo Ranch is located on the edge of Hopi and Navajo territories.

| About our events | |
| The White Mountain Historical Shoot 'N Society are
sponsors of The Buffalo Ranch. The Buffalo Ranch offers events
that span the time periods of the 1820's through 2006, however, the
ranch itself is based on the true Wild West.
"We don't need no stinking badges!" Unlike other organizations that have shooting competitions, The White Mountain Historical Shoot 'N Society does not have restrictions on the type of weapons required for a shoot, i.e.: you do not need two pistols, a rifle, and a shotgun to participate, however, all groups are welcome to participate in our events and use out facilities. The Buffalo Ranch also offers safety and instruction for new "greenhorns", persons new to shooting. The Buffalo Ranch is available for cowboy action shooting, filming, and private parties. It is the perfect place for historical re-enactments such as Revolutionary, Spanish American, Civil War, Mountain Man Rendezvous, and Renaissance fairs. S.A.S.S.--we are available for your events! Our ranch is privately owned. Michael and Trudi Roser are both Life Members of S.A.S.S.

| Upcoming events | |
| We are working hard at The Buffalo Ranch to
cater to your events. Plans to add a saloon, dance hall, and a
stage are underway. We will also be adding a sheriff office to
handle information and first aid.
Trail rides will be organized for participants bringing their horses. The saloon and dance hall will be available to host private parties, including weddings. Tourists coming from out of town will be able to live the part of the wild west with real cowboy camping. At a later date, we are planning to offer tours to the surrounding areas for tourists who wish to see the sights.

| About the man | |
| Bloody Gene is a living historian; he doesn't just dress
the part, he lives the part.

|
| About the founders | |
| Together with Ron, several friends banded together to form The Buffalo Ranch. Ron's girlfriend, Laura; her brother Gary and sister-in law Pam; and good friends Michael and Trudi Roser have spent hours researching the ways of the Old West to make your experience at The Buffalo Ranch a rewarding and educational adventure. | |

Kona's first trip to the range, she just doesn't know what to make of those targets. Bubba isn't a bit afraid of them.
This is the end of the day, we are finished shooting.
